AB Transformation helps companies decide where AI is worth the money, and where it is not.
I map how work actually moves, find where time and margin leak, and build the plan to fix it.
Why AI programs return less than they cost
Most AI programs start with a tool. That is the problem.
A product gets bought before the business knows what is broken. Specialists each solve their piece, but nobody owns the full workflow. The result is more spend, more handoffs, and no clear return.
This costs the most in operationally complex businesses: regulated operations, systems bought one at a time, work moving through handoffs nobody designed, and small executive teams who are the only people who know how it all fits together.
Is this built for a business like yours?
| Strong fit | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Regulated or compliance-heavy operations | Control failures cost more than the program |
| Multiple business lines | One back office carries different economics |
| Multiple sites, states, or field-service teams | Handoffs break faster across locations |
| Systems bought one at a time | Someone is re-keying data between them |
| Rule-bound work | Good candidate for process, system, or AI support |
| Executive bottlenecks | Decisions depend on too few people |
Size is not the filter. Operating conditions decide whether an AI program returns anything. Headcount does not.
The Ground Truth Assessment
The Ground Truth Assessment is a fixed-fee diagnostic across six domains: goals, process, data, technology, roles, and governance.
AI is one domain, not the frame around all of them.
You finish knowing where time and margin leak, what is worth fixing first, what it should return, and whether the first move is a model, a system of record, a process, or a hire.

Where this has worked
| Context | Finding | Business case | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aerospace and geospatial intelligence, $6.4B private equity portfolio company | Manual order entry was consuming sales capacity | $2.8M projected value, 90% manual effort reduction, $400K automation case accepted by leadership | Projected roadmap accepted |
| Same company | Collaboration and productivity platform spend could be rationalized | $875K annual spend avoided | Completed |
| Procure-to-pay | The missing piece was a value stream owner, not another tool | Role recommendation enabled later system fixes | Role identified |
The 90% and $2.8M figures are projected business case figures, not delivered results.
One person to deal with
You work with one person who owns the diagnosis and the plan.
When specialists are needed, I bring in people whose work I know. They may be your vendors, vendors you choose, or experts from my network. I can stay involved to hold the work to the plan, or hand over the roadmap and the right people to call.
I take no fee, commission, or referral payment from any vendor or partner I recommend. Partner costs pass through at cost, with no markup.
